Solent Composite Systems Limited was inaugerated in March 2004 following the acquisition of the assets of Offshore Composite Structures.

Offshore Composite Structures itself was formed in 1996 by a management buy-out from SP Systems based in Newport, Isle of Wight.

Initially, working in the oil & gas sectors where quality and delivery are paramount, Offshore Composites quickly established a reputation for both innovation and reliability. This enabled them to become a leading supplier of moulds and components for the fast growing wind energy sector.

In 2004 SCS introduced a knowledge based engineering portfolio of composite mould and processing technology based on SmartMould™- an integrated system of software and process techniques
