SCS Scores Hat-trick in ISO Certification
Solent Composite Systems Ltd based in E.Cowes IOW has achieved formal recognition for its Integrated Management System (IMS) certified under ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental and OHSAS18001 Heath and Safety.
The three standards audit was conducted by DNV and awarded on April 10th 2007. The achievement of this highly prestigious certification follows 18 months of meticulous preparation across all departments of SCS operations. It is understood that SCS is one of only a handful of UK companies that has achieved certification under all three standards simultaneously.
In today’s market where securing energy resources is increasingly critical, SCS has been playing a partnership role in assisting all energy producers – oil, gas, wind and tidal to improve performance and reduce costs using composites technology . SCS customers – all world leaders in their field, place Quality, Health Safety and Environmental compliance at the top of their agenda when selecting their strategic suppliers.
The IMS project was led by Martin Bayley Manager Quality, HSE and Training who said:
“This milestone certification is an enormous achievement for SCS and all its employees- it places us in the same league as our customers - world class. As an SME though we have limited resources, and we have proved yet again that we can compete at the highest levels of operational excellence”.
In addition to its new ISO certifications SCS has Achilles JQS and FPAL registration as a qualified supplier to the North Sea offshore sector.
SCS was nominated as Winner “Best New Business” at the prestigious IOW Chamber of Commerce Business Awards for Excellence in 2005, and in 2006 declared winner of the Manufacturing Award.
