ProTek wins DNV Design Certification

SCS obtains certification from DNV for ProTek Design Methodology.
Solent Composite Systems Ltd based in E.Cowes IOW has achieved formal recognition by DNV of its design methodology for ProTek™ fire and blast enclosures. The new certificate a “Design Verification Report” published April 24th 2007confirms that the design methodology deployed in the company’s ProTek™ passive restraint system complies with current codes, standards and practices of the Oil and Gas industry.
The design verification certification is awarded by DNV and follows many years of successful installations by SCS offshore and onshore. Specifically this certification includes the standards laid down by Statoil, Hydro and TOTAL in addition to the generic NORSOK R004 for fire, blast and thermal protection.

SCS recently gained recognition for its Integrated Management System again certified by DNV, to ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 14001 Environmental and OHSAS 18001 Health & Safety It is understood that SCS is one of very few companies in the UK who have been awarded all three standards simultaneously
In addition to its new ISO certifications SCS has Achilles JQS and FPAL registration as a qualified supplier to the North Sea offshore sector.
SCS was nominated as Winner “Best New Business” at the prestigious IOW Chamber of Commerce Business Awards for Excellence in 2005, and in 2006 declared winner of the Manufacturing Award.
