Opening of New Facility

Solent Composite Solutions (SCS), leaders in the design and manufacturing of innovative structural ProTek® composite solutions for the Oil & Gas industry held a celebration event on Friday 18th December 2015 to mark the official opening of their new purpose built Broadfields Park facility in Cowes.  

The building was opened by Solent LEP Director and Leader of the Isle of Wight Council, Councillor Jonathon Bacon.

The new facility comprises of offices, design, engineering, prototyping and manufacturing workspace, which provides over 1,140m2 of floor space and will allow SCS to secure 25 Island jobs and deliver the ambitious future growth plans over the coming years.

SCS engineering and design capability includes Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and 3D CAD with expertise in importing 3D CAD or Cloud Scan data from Clients.  The facilities include high speed internet connectivity and latest communications equipment to facilitate engineering review meetings with Clients operating in all global locations.   

SCS is strategically located in Cowes on the Isle of Wight, a recognised centre for composites expertise and experience in the UK, from where the company has provided technical solutions to the Global Oil & Gas, and Renewables Energy industries for the past 25 years.

The new SCS facilities are operated under their Integrated Management System, which has been certified by Bureau Veritas for compliance with international standards BS OHSAS 18001 for Health and Safety performance, ISO 9001 for Quality, and ISO 14001 for Environmental Management.

This project for new premises was supported by HM Government Regional Growth Fund.
